hit or miss

Okay so when I put this outfit on I felt comfortable and thought it looked great for fall. I was layering but showing a little leg.

Then I went to the grocery store and everyone kept giving me funny looks and staring so I had to reevaluate. Faux fur vest- on trend, layered over a cardigan-also on tend. I am in my 20's so I'm showing a little leg-on key. Leg warmers/knee highs-on trend.

I still don't get it. Instead of high street (I tried the scream look like the girls in all the fall/winter ads) did I hit hooker street or something?

Switching gears here. I read a great post over at Pencil Skirts and Lattes the other day. It was about being real and how sometimes the blogger life and life of bloggers can look more glamourous then it actually is. I thought about that post for the rest of the day and I was compelled to share that I, in my mid to late 20's still have acne. I had tried everything including Accutane. I usually don't take close ups of my face for that reason but I did. I don't photoshop my photos but I do wear a lot of make up to hide it. But here is my close up in all it's glory:

My advice to all of you today is be yourself and be real.
Cheers my Dears,
Bre

  13. omg! I was just reading through this post and about to comment on the fact that the only reason people were staring at you was because you look FREAKING AMAZING in this outfit (I absolutely love those boots and the socks. fab) - and I saw that you mentioned my post. That is so sweet, I'm just happy to know someone reads it and relates to it! so, a few things 1) you and your skin are gorgeous! IF there is acne there it is certainly the last thing anyone notices about you. 2) I don't photoshop my pictures either. I actually wonder if people will point out all my imperfections in my photos LOL. 3) Love your blog. You always seem very real to me, which is so rare and awesome. :) happy weekend, Love

  15. I can not comment on a post when I have not read it. I have tried when I am in hurry but want to be nice. I always end up reading it. I want to leave a real honest comment so I thank you in turn for reading what I actually wrote. And no one is look if at your imperfections because as far as I can see you have none!
    Have a fabulous weekend.

  17. You know what I actually do look at other people blogs and think "wow her life seem really exciting". I think she has a great wardrobe and she's always out at different events. I try not to compare my life to others but you can't help but think certain things because of people posts. I will be taking a look at that post you mention. BTW you are on trend people sometimes look at other people because they like what you are wearing. I get looks all the time so I just think I'm wearing something they wish they could wear!

  18. <3 your socks!

I think your outfit is cute! Maybe that's why people were staring at you! I get looks all the time when I go grocery shopping, especially after work & I'm still wearing the same clothes I wore to work, so I just smile at them & keep shopping. :D

  19. So many thoughts are rushing through my mind after reading this wonderful post and checking out your (as always) awesome look! Haven't managed to put them in logical order yet - so here's the summary: YOU ROCK!! huge hugs, Macs (PS: Now I know, why you wanted to "borrow" my coat, but absolutely no need for you to "cover up" as PPS: Will trade my coat for your legs anytime. :D)
